MOTIVATION...

Mine waxes & wanes, comes & goes..has it's highs and lows, just like everyone else. Lately, my motivation has been at an all time low though. (Note the lack of posts the past two weeks..I know, I know..I'm sorry!) I lost my mojo!!

Now honestly!!

I know that I decide how I feel & how I react to the world & people around me! I know this! I firmly believe this!! But these past two weeks I've been in a funky funk..I've been blaming it on the change of season. The fact that we're currently residing in a basement & I don't get anywhere near the same amount of natural sunlight I used to when I was an 'above ground dweller'. Can't blame it on not exercising..because I've still been doing that (and it's a good thing too, or else my hormones would seriously be outta whack! Exercise is my inner witch control!) Definitely can't blame it on the hubby..he's perma-positive (love ya, sweetie-o). So what was it?

I don't know.

BUT, I woke up this morning feeling more sparkly!! (Spirit fingers, everyone!!!) And I'm going to blame that on the fact that it is December 1st! Granted, I'm not feeling especially festive quite yet...but I will get there. I. Will. Get. There!!

SOOOO, I would like some advice on how y'all stoke the Christmas spirit!! C'mon...don't be shy! I WANT, CRAVE, & NEED comments on this one!!!

I will now leave you all with a quote from a personal favorite show: How I Met Your Mother:

"When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True Story."

~Barney Stinson

Does that quote rock, or what?

I find that the SUN has a LOT to do with my winter funks...I have to get out in the sun for a few minutes every day cuz I get down with the darkness! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Thanks for the reminder that I need to visit more often! Will do. Have a great day and I'm glad you're feeling up today.

My favorite way to get into the christmas spirit is listening to chrismtas music! That is pretty much all I listen to during December. Also, drink good hot cocoa and see the lights at temple square! So, I am coming back to work the first week of January! I miss talking to you and can't wait to see you!

You sound like how I've been feeling lately. Are you sure you're not prego? :) Just kidding. But today I felt happy too. I think some of it has to do with the sun shining. I love Christmas music like crazy! Maybe start some new traditions you can look forward to. Sorry if these suggestions suck. Hope you keep feeling better!

Oh Meghan...you surely do not act like you are in a funk. When I see you at work you are always singing and carrying on. I love that about you. I have a hard time at this time of year. I just see the joy that my kids have and others around me have for the season. That is what I look at and it makes me happy. I put some Christmas songs on my blog that might help too. Luv ya

I found you on MM Mommy blogs but really enjoyed your post- AND your use of spirit fingers!

I hear you on the waxing and waning thing. Happens to me too. I was 'waxing' pretty good on my weight loss motivation until last week- I'm waning now.

And after reading your profile, I'm going to have to get my hubs to look at your hubs picture to see if he recongizes him since they work for the same company and the same division!

I'm having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year too. So I have been trying to make sure all the traditions I grew up with that made Christmas so fun are going on in my own home. The day after Thanksgiving we put up christmas, and we went to my moms for family home evening monday and drew names for christmas so far. I know no tmuch but it is slowly helping me feel better.

Hmmm. I am not sure how I get in the Christmas mood. It is just like it magically appears for me! I am a "tradition" nut, so I always just look forward to all the little things that make Christmas, Christmas. Maybe you should start some new traditions this year with your hubby. We have Fondue every year and we count down the days until fondue!

Hey girlie. Hate those funks. I know how you feel. I am with Doney Days on this one.. Are you preggers?? If not.. :)

It's always a good idea to serve someone to make you feel better (or make you sadder... hmmmm... maybe not the best advice)... How about...

Doing some sort of Christmas tradition you enjoy, for me that would be like, walking around Temple Square to see the lights, or I think I am going to start buying an annual Christmas ornament to remind me of the year about to end.

Just ride it (the funk) out. It will end soon. Now that you are loved!

Dang it! Meant to say KNOW that you are loved, not NOW.

Can I just say that I truly admire the work that you do! My mom went through a year of Chemo so I know how valuable you are to your patients, she loved her nurses! And what a hard job to work day in and day out! I applaud you! (do you hear me clapping!!!) So glad you are still reading the cute day blog, feel free to ask questions, and/or share your fashion opions with us!
On a side note, when I was living in SLC my most favorite thing to do at christmas time was attened the choir performances at the cathedral of the madeline (i think it is on south temple) you can google it and they will have their concert times posted! It is so beautiful in the there and they sing the most wonderful christmas pieces!
