I Resolve....

"Man, I'm tired!" Those are my favorite words these days..because, well, it's true! I've had my second trimester 'energy spurt' & as I'm heading into my third (I've discovered there's varying opinions as to what week the third tri begins, oddly enough!) I can feel my energy draining away. It might have something to do with the basketball I have strapped to my front, & my inability to find a comfortable sleeping position..I'm not sure!

ANYWHO, as I was doing laundry this morning, & sighing over how MUCH of it there was to do, I of course thought to myself : 'I am SO tired'!

THEN I started thinking about how much MORE tired I'll be when this little munchkin is not so compactly packed & easily portable..when he's waking me up & I'm back at work on night shifts & there's still laundry to be done, and dishes, and errands, and, and, AND......!!!!

THEN I started freaking out a little bit about how I was going to handle it, because, quite frankly, I'm a terrible, terrible person when I'm sleep deprived..& from what I can gather, sleep deprivation is just a part of motherhood...

SO, there I am, in my laundry room, getting ready to hyperventilate..when I realized that if I keep freaking out like this I am going to miss out on something very important:

ENJOYING BEING PREGNANT.

Yeah. You heard me right: ENJOYING it! As some of you may have gathered..I'm not really of the school that absolutely 'loooooooves' being pregnant. I know you women are out there. And you're crazy, ok? How you can enjoy being clumsy, dropping things, taking an eternity to get shoes on, heartburn, etc. etc. is beyond me! (Feeling him move in there is pretty cool..THAT I'll give ya!)

But I'm going to make a 'New Year's Resolution' to enjoy, to my greatest ability, the rest of my pregnancy..because soon my/our life will be forever changed. And I'm excited for that! Really, I am!

ANYWHO, to those of you who have experienced pregnancy: What did you enjoy about it? And what did you do to relax? And to those of you who haven't had the 'pleasure' yet..what do YOU do to relax (I need suggestions!)

MAN, that was kinda a corny post!

The best part and you should enjoy is being tired, meaning everyone lets you sleep, when you can, I loved the way I was always glowing, seriously I look back and on the days I actually got ready and I did look good. You get to eat whatever you want and no one says anything!!! You don't have to do anything if you don't want to because your pregnant and everyone understands that!! I am one of those that love being pregnant. It is just the joy of bringing someone special to this earth, and being a mother! Of course you could never understand what love a mother has for you until you become a mother yourself!! It is great, and you are going to be a wonderful mother, I remeber how great you always were with your brothers!! You are an amazing woman!! Love you lots, and wish you the best!!

As weird as it sounds, after I had Parker, I actually missed being pregnant. For one, I missed feeling the little guy move in there. To this day, if I get gas, my thoughts automatically think about a baby moving inside of me. Weird, I know, but sometimes I get gas that feels like a baby.

Next, I missed feeling special. Everyone opening doors for me, waiting on me hand and foot, smiling at me as I walked in the room. There is just something special about being pregnant...Even though I always thought pregnancy was much cuter on other individuals than it was on me.

Plus, it is a great excuse to be fat.

So, I, like you, do not enjoy being pregnant. But, there were some definite things I liked about it. I LOVED feeling Jackson move-it really never got old for me. I also loved getting ultrasounds and hearing his heartbeat.
As far as relaxing-my feet and back hurt a lot and Alex would give me a massage almost every day. He most definitely does not do that now, but while I was pregnant he gave in every day!

Maybe we could both resolve to doing lunch once a month. Like we did for a bit those months ago? I could do for some Meg time. Eh?

Ummmmm... I have no idea. I know that working out USED to be a huge stress relief to me, but it just seems to make me more tired these days.

Sitting on my butt is always nice, but I don't think that helps with the energy levels.

Sometimes I'll read, play the piano, take a bath, or get a massage. There. Finally. And answer. :)

I am excited for your little tater tot.

As you know I enjoy nearly Everything about pregnancy. I love all the tummy rubbing, all the food, and the way my new curvy rear end looked in jeans. I am convinced that when that baby arrives you are somehow able to function on little sleep, and somehow able to hear every little noise at night and somehow able to step into those big motherhood shoes. You will be great. As for relaxing, tell that hubbaroo of yours that you need a majoy pedicure.
